Description: This is a lacquered box from Yamanaka lacquerware, featuring a depiction of a young pine tree. Pine trees are evergreen conifers, known for their ability to retain green foliage year-round, and are regarded as symbols of longevity. They have been revered as sacred plants since ancient times. Among them, young pines grow by firmly establishing their roots even in conditions of water scarcity and enduring strong sea winds. Therefore, in Japan, they symbolize resilience and the ability to confront harsh environments. Care Instructions for Lacquerware: Washing: Use dish soap and a soft sponge to clean the lacquerware, similar to regular dishes. High-quality lacquerware should be washed separately from ceramics and handled gently. Avoid using abrasive materials such as metal scrubs or cleaners, and do not soak it in water for extended periods. Drying: After washing, dry the lacquerware with a cloth rather than letting it air dry. Residual water droplets can leave marks on the surface. Protection: To maintain the shine of the lacquerware, apply a small amount of vegetable oil (such as salad oil) onto a cloth and gently wipe the surface. Use oil sparingly. Preventing Discoloration: When placing hot items like soups into the lacquerware, there is a risk of the surface turning whitish. To prevent this, briefly warm the lacquerware with lukewarm water before use to avoid sudden temperature changes and potential discoloration. It has been used regularly, so there are some scratches.Shipped by Japan post to U.S. and Every European Country. VAT or import charges may be applied. Thank you for your watching my item.
