These were made from a "new" formulation of a specially spun Nylon - first developed, and used at their N.J. factory. Starting in post WWII America Van Raalte was the 1940's version of Victoria's Secret... The company sold its products through all of the upscale department stores of the day, Such as Macy's, Sak's and Bloomingdale's they became well known for their high level of quality. Their company slogan was “VAN RAALTE: Because You Love Nice Things”. The company prospered through the years and was the very first to produce the iconic lady's stockings made with DuPont’s new “nylon” fiber in the late 1930’s. By 1965 the company had sales of over $70 Million. These gloves are brand new and never worn - and were stored perfectly, they come to you in mint condition in their original bag with the original price tag still attached to the gloves, holding both of the gloves together. FEATURES: This is a brand new pair of genuine Van Raalte gloves. These are made from a specially woven Nylon fabric that was extremely easy to care for, and looked Fabulous!! This pair is 8" long and goes to the wrist. The palm side of the glove has a 1-1/4" of gathered elastic at the wrist. Manufacturers only really started using nylon on a mass scale after WWII. Women loved it for it's terrific fit and ease of care. The tag states 'Wonderfully Washable'. These nylon gloves have a delicate textured finish that give it the appearance of fine "Kid Leather Gloves." Company Timeline: 1902 or 1907 - Emanuel and Zealie Van Raalte start E. & Z.
