Description: Game Worn Michigan Wolverines Riddell WD1 helmet from 1984 and several seasons after. Nice helmet. Very rare Riddell helmet as the majority of the Michigan players wore BIKE helmets during this period. a We have had other Riddell Michigan helmets from this period - some sourced from ex-players. They have all been 7 1/2 or larger. As explained by one of these players, "BIKE did not make an XL helmet at this time so any player with a larger head wore a Riddell helmet." There are no player identifiers on the helmet. Great game wear on this one, with some missing paint as shown in the photo. Comes with a Riddell thick "USFL" style NOP facemask. As with all Michigan game helmets, the wings and stripes are painted on this helmet. Moderate to heavy wear. A nice, very rare display helmet.
