Description: Up for sale is a restored Wilton bench vise with 5” jaws and swivel base This is one pulled from my collection that I’ve started thinning out. I own lots of rare and unique Wilton’s and while this doesn’t really fall into that category, you don’t see 5” Wilton’s often. It came to me in pieces due to the swivel base missing the locking cleats. I was able to replace them with factory original ones so it works like it did when new. It has 5” wide jaws with a 4 3/4” deep throat. Max opening is 8 1/2” and it weighs around 75 pounds The body of the vise has the usual scars/marks from being used over the years. It was also missing the rear dust cap so I built one with a hydraulic press and a custom die to form the sheetmetal. The jaw inserts were pretty nice so they just were cleaned and polished with the rest of the bare metal parts. The only condition “issue with this vise is in the underside of the swivel base. It’s missing a small piece of metal but it actually works just fine in spite of the damage. The oversized cleats will span the gap so you’d have to get it set exactly over the hole and really crank on something to make it come loose.
