Description: NYC United States Post Office A certainly unique piece of Postal History. This pamphlet seems to be handmade by the Main Post Office in NYC, giving some historical information, some interesting facts, promoting of use of Zip Codes, some special services information, a list of all postal offices in Manhattan and a list of some phone contacts for information. There are some hints on the back cover, with the Postmasters name: John R. Strachan As you can see in the pictures they printed this one sided and glued back to back. Some of the glue has dried up, but I have left it to show it's authenticity. This seems to be printed on grey card stock and is yellowing. I frequented this post office, it was a truly impressive and a magnificent building, now being converted into a Train Station. I understand they will include a smaller post office inside the renovated building. I'm guessing that i got this in 1968/69 as the data included was for fiscal year ending June 1968. There is a publication number on the back GPO 960-951. I was unable to find any information on it.
