Description: This is a vintage restored Scandia 778 Rusticated Opera Pipe. Scandia were Stanwell seconds. This is a beautiful pipe that has been restored. This is considered an Opera pipe, with its pinched, oval-shaped form, and yet the chamber within is still as cylindrical as many compact English Billiards. This pipe was produced somewhere between 1948-1960s. The bowl was reamed and sanded to identify imperfections. There was a hairline vertical crack near the top of the bowl which was filled and repaired and isn’t noticeable. The briar was scrubbed clean to remove years of oil and grime, given a fresh coat of dye, polished and buffed. The stem was thoroughly cleaned, deoxidized, sanded and polished to a high shine. This pipe is ready to smoke or add to your collection.
