Description: Vintage Judaica heavy bronze box. Bronze figural. Made in Israel circa 1950-60's by Nardia. Measurements: a little over 3 1/4 inches long; 2 5/8 inches wide; approx 2 1/2 inches high. Moulded bronze lidded box. Stepped, scalloped decoration around the perimeter of the slightly sloping sides. The lid with a double raised border above a recessed plain, with parallel moulded olive leaves on the long side and raised lettering in both Hebrew and English ISRAEL / YISRAEL (Hebrew) on the sides. In the center is a figure of a lion on a textured base. Marks: the box is signed and marked in incised letters underneath: NARDIA in both English and Hebrew letters; Israel in both English and Hebrew letters enclosing an engraved Menorah / candelabrum. (see 'photos). Condition: good with natural wear commensurate with age. No dings/dents/damage.
