Description: Starting in the 20's Hook-Fast of Providence, Rhode Island made non-slip belt buckles that reflected the buyer's trade or interests and usually had his or her name. The company is still in business, though it now specializes in badges. Most of their vintage buckles that I've seen were men's buckles for fireman or truckers, but this one is for a woman "SUSAN". It's delightfully quirky - there's a dancing girl and a pelican against a complex art deco abstract design. Measures 2 by 1 3/8 inches. There's some wear on the silvertone finish and the enamel. Fun!
