Description: I took some photos with a ruler to give you an approximation of the dimensions… I took photos of every possible angle and view of the bag for condition, and please examine them closely as they’re part of the description. I noticed that while the bag is overall in excellent condition, especially since I’m pretty sure this dates from about World War II, There is a little rust on the two metal parts that hold the shoulder strap, and that rust has also stained the strap itself. I was pretty sure. Well I know for a fact that I could get the rest off of that metal in a few minutes with a Dremel, and pretty confident that I could get the rust off the shoulder strap with some vinegar, but I decided to sell this AS IS — because I know from watching shows on TV about antiques and vintage items that some people want things to look brand new no matter how old they are, and some people want things to be rusted and deteriorating and I’m sure there are people like me who fall somewhere in the middle for most things. Since since I have no idea who might most want this, and since I’m not actually especially keen to sell it unless I get a reasonable profit over what I paid (and I didn’t get it very cheap), I’m just going to sell this exactly in the condition that you see it. And if that condition is in anyway unclear you should please ask me and any questions whatsoever before hand. Because there aren’t no returns. Also, I base the fact that I take this to World War II, partly on my familiarity with other World War II Swedish items that this very much resembles however, I also know that the Swedish army and I guess more generally the Swedish military tended to use things for way longer than just, for example, the duration of World War II. So it’s possible that the people online that was the other basis. I saw people identifying this as a World War II bag online It’s possible that this bag started in or around that. That was continually manufactured long after. That’s really common with military gear and particularly Swedish gear. So for all I know this is from the 60s or 70s, but I really don’t think so. And I also don’t know but I’m pretty sure that the stamp visible on the inside of the cover flap that has a Swedish crown and the letters FKA refers to Their chemical warfare unit a description of which I found online which is copied below: The Swedish Armed Forces Chemical Institute ( kemiska anstalt, FKA), a government agency created in 1937 and located in Ursvik, Sundbyberg Municipality. FKA had predecessors in chemical warfare and chemical warfare protection activities conducted at Lund university from 1926 and Uppsala university from 1928.
