Description: Here is a brief history on the EPPCO on an early example of the East Palestine Pottery Company from Ohio This particular bowl shape is called the "DeSoto"as the EPP Co. mark on the bottom of the bowl depicts. The bowl was made sometime in 1884-1909. In 1909 the EPP Co. was purchased by W.S. George who changed the company's name tothe W.S. George Pottery Co. This particular bowl is in fair condition. The bottom of the bowl also has a dark areas as shown in the photos The gilding on the edges of the bowl has worn off as indications that this bowl may have been used for alongtime by its original owner. Nevertheless, because it is an early example and one that is recognizable as an East Palestine Pottery Company scalloped dish bowl with an authentic mark.
