Description: Lovely Vintage Chinese polychrome covered. vegetable dish made in style of Chinese Export Armorial wares. Production time approximately second quarter or around mid 20th century. The dish is hand-painted with floral details and an images of a lion on the lid. There is a monogram on each side. Measures approximately 5” inches tall, 9.25” L x 7.75” wide. Condition: very good overall condition. No cracks repairs or notable chips. Typical for vintage items minor condition imperfections such as rough areas and minor wear along the rims and on the foot. Wear on the underside. Wear to gilt and decorations. This piece was purchased at an estate sale in Washington DC, and belonged to Herbert E Horowitz - who lived and worked in China during 50s - 70a and who was an ambassador to Gambia during 1980s.
