Description: This fabulous vintage 1960s Malcolm Starr 2-piece outfit (dress and top) is a stunning piece that will make you stand out in any party. all the gals had to have a Malcolm Starr dress for their parties and fancy occasions in the 1960s. Perfectly representing the area with a bright print print-it's sparkles with multi shades of green beads and sequins. The dress features a fully beaded top (zips fully down the back to open completely ) and dress in spring green and gold colors, made from cotton and cotton batiste material. The top is meant to have an oversized look , but can be worn separate from the dress since it is beautiful on its own . The dress is has a chest size of 39 inches, waist size of 30 inches (dress) and 36 inches (top), and hip size of 42 inches. This original and authentic dress was manufactured in Hong Kong and is perfect for eveningwear, parties, or a lovely wedding! The dress has a shoulder to shoulder measurement of 16 inches and a waist to hem length of 25 inches, and bodice length of 15". The Malcolm Starr brand is known for its quality and style, making this dress a must-have for any vintage clothing enthusiast: Designer MALCOLM STARR: Malcolm Starr was Popular for glittered and embellished dresses in the 1960’s and early 1970’s, Malcolm Starr was a brand synonymous with trendy glamor. This brand offered a cohesive look over its decade on the ready to wear scene. Some designers that worked for the brand were Youssef Rizkallah, from 1969 to 1975 and Elinor Simmons, who contributed designs from the early 1960’s to 1972. Condition: lovely pre-owned vintage condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear. Notable issues: I found only one isolated area where there are some missing beads (refer to last photo for up close details ) -they do not detract-as I had to hunt for them. It's most notable condition issues are within the lightweight Batiste cotton bodice on the dress. The upper portion of the dress, (not meant to be seen) is very lightweight and sheer. It has some fading/yellowing, and handstitched repairs-refer to last photo. Ultimately you could have the bodice restored/replaced easily. None of the bodice notables show when wearing, since the top covers the dress bodice.
