Description: Ornate Antique doorknob escutcheon or back plate in heavy plate steel. Straight and solid in good condition but void of any of the original finish. Probably was brass plated but is hard to tell now whether or not it was plated or painted since any of the original finish is long gone. Grommet for knob is cast bronze. It has been cleared of paint, cleaned and clear coated to protect the finish from rusting. As always refer to the pictures for size and condition. Remember while they are very nice these items are 100+ years old and will NEVER/EVER be absolutely perfect.
