No visual signs of groove wear. Record looks close to a new copy.E An excellent copy with only a hint of groove wear. Minimal light scratches/scuffs, if at all.E- Still an excellent copy but the playing surface may have some light wear. Light scratches/scuffs may be present. V++ (Used when neither V+ or E- seem to accurately visually grade a record)V+ An average 78rpm record that has clearly been enjoyed by its previous owner(s). Some scratches/scuffs, more groove wear, though not heavy, and occasional audio distortion may be noticed, but not enough to spoil the listening experience.V Significant groove wear is to be expected, many scratches and scuffs, and surface noise may also be quite noticeable. There's still plenty of enjoyment to be had from listening to 'V' graded 78s. Please note that serious (deep) scratches and deep scuffs are noted in the description, as are other notable defects (needle-runs, digs, rim-chips, fractures, cracks etc.) Records may benefit from a clean.
