With colours rose-bedecked, the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers celebrated their regimental day on April 23rd in Cairo. A battalion, wearing roses in their caps, marched to All Saints Cathedral. The colours were handed to Bishop Gwynne, who placed them on the altar. After the ceremony the battalion marched past the G.O.C.-in-C., Lieut.-General R.G. Stone. The colour bearers are (left) Lt. W. It does therefore include photographic material covering every theatre of conflict and taken from both the allies and axis lines, although, as one would expect, the text and the accounts of action do have a definite bias towards the allied forces.
