SUPERB DG FRENCH CLASSICAL 950 SILVER CONDIMENT, MUSTARD POT 18THC NO MONOGRAM

Description: Awaiting your purchase is this 950 silver condiment / mustard pot crafted by D.G of Paris, France in a wonderful Classical a winged female in helmut clutching two cornucopias filled with flowers, egg and dart borders, and pineapple finial pattern. This special item remains in Very good condition, (see condition report above), and bears no monogram. Appraiser Notes: The hallmarks on this piece are plentiful. Because there are two timeframes represented here (close in years, however) one assumes that since the silversmiths at that time were not "organized" they were reluctant to have their items assayed so my guess since this piece was originally made in 1793, it wasn't until 1809-19 that the silversmith went to have the piece assayed, because the law, then, dictated that he must. The hallmark is D pellet G (vertical) with two people in a boat above the initials.
