SERVICED 1966 OMEGA Geneve Seamaster Automatic Dress Watch 165.002 Cal.550 Steel

Description: For sale is this exceptional vintage Omega Dress Watch dated to 1966. This watch is in excellent working condition, and has all the best features collectors love about these simple vintage 3-hand Omega pieces. Watch presents beautifully with a crisp, minimalist white silver dial and clean 3 - 6 - 9 - 12 markers. This is an early Tritium model, with only one "t" by the "Swiss Made" which I've seen on many of this model. This watch was made with Geneve, Seamaster, or sterile dials for different markets. I think the sterile dial (that just says Omega Automatic without a product line branding) was made for the US market. Case back is also sterile with no product line logo or text. - Case: shows scratches from normal use, but has good sharp lines. Has a small flat ding in the bezel between the 1 and 2 marker. - Crown: original Omega signed, correct to this model. - Crystal: New modern production crystal with the omega logo laser etched. - Dial: Very clean, crisp dial with beautifully aged Tritium plots. All original. Has one very very small spot to the right of the central pinion. Hardly noticeable unless you're looking for it. - Hands: Nice original hands with matching aged Tritium. - Movement: Well running, serviced Omega 550 in beautiful cosmetic condition. Serial dates watch to 1966. - Band: New old stock gray ostrich leather strap made in USA. Tapers to 16mm at the buckle, where an aftermarket Stainless Steel Omega logo clasp is attached. - Water Resistance: I replaced the case back seal. Crown seal is a special hard rubber that isn't meant to be replaced (a few late 60s watches had these, including the famous compressors, instead of rubber o rings we use today). I tested this piece for water resistance to 3 Bar and to my surprise it passed! As with all vintage watches, I do not recommend taking this anywhere near water. That said, I've felt confident walking in the rain, etc. knowing it has some low level water resistance. Watch dimensions are:Case Diameter (exc. crown): 34.5 mmLug to Lug: 40.5 mmLug Width: 18 mm Thickness: 10.7 mm I personally serviced (disassembled, cleaned, reassembled, lubricated, regulated) this classic timepiece a coule months ago (Sept. 2024). Please note that I am a hobbyist, not a professional watchmaker; however, I use industry standard oils (Moebius, etc.), tools, and procedures for all of my repairs. As you can see in the pictured timeographer profile, this one is running healthily. It should serve its new owner well for years to come!
