REED & BARTON SILVERSMITHS Damascene Etching of The Crouse Building at Syracuse University circa. 1979 Dimensions: approximately 14.75” w × 12.75” h This Limited Edition Damascene etching No. 0641 produced by Reed & Barton in Silver, 24kt gold vermeil, copper and bronze. John R. Crouse, a wealthy Syracuse merchant and banker financed and planned this magnificent structure. Designed by Archimedes Russell, the sandstone edifice is richly ornamented with beautiful Romanesque designs of granite. In 1889, it was officially named the John Crouse Memorial College for Women, this university classroom building is still one of the main architectural attractions on the “hill”. Used but in wonderful, cared for condition. It has hung in place and never disturbed all these years. Please note I have taken 2 photos of the back so to avoid photographing my name on the original certificate.
