Description: Here is a nice old RP RPPC Real Photo Post Card for your collection! This card comes from a 40 year collection of fine postcards including RP's. This postcard shows a view of a two story hotel with porch rockers. The front of postcard is printed and reads Hotel Parquet Built In 1796 Constableville New York. This beauty of an old building was sadly lost to fire on October 15, 2004. Built in the early 1800s it was one of the earliest hotels in the area – back when Constableville was known as Shalersville after William Constable’s first land agent. It passed through several owners including the Schwenk Bros. who made significant repairs and upgrades to it in the nineteen-teens and added electric lights in 1917. In 1925 John Parquet bought it from Mrs. Anna Davis at which point its name changed from The Davis Hotel to what most know it as, The Hotel Parquet. The card back is divided and is not postmarked.
