Based in Italy, Deja Vu is one of my favorite record labels ! Their LPS are a labor of love! True FANS of music work at Deja Vu in terms of compiling the best performances of the greatest songs by the best musicians of all time. Ray Charles fits into that category. “ 20 Golden Greats “ showcases Ray Charles at his best! This LP appears to never have been played. I have a 2nd copy otherwise I would never sell this vinyl record. I just noticed that a prior owner of this LP used tape in an attempt to mend the cover. I can’t remove said tape without damaging the cover art. The one major flaw was noted above, fortunately it’s smooth sailing afterwards! Genius + Soul = Jazz is the second LP and features arrangements by Quincy Jones and Ralph Burns. This LP was released in 1961 and the matrix number is AS - 2 - A . It follows that side B would be the same but end with a B. Please see my photos as they are located after the photos for 20 golden greats! Genius + Soul = Jazz is being graded as EX. I tend to be conservative in my grading. However, I do my very best to follow the guidelines grading vinyl records as set forth by goldmine magazine. There is only slight surface noise. The vinyl was play tested and plays through without any issues. The outer sleeve or record cover shows signs of wear on the spine mostly but in general is consistent with age and graded VG+. Shipped USPS media mail with tracking information provided to buyers with positive feedback. 20 golden greats is rare and these are the best versions of some of Ray Charles timeless songs ! Furthermore, Genius + Soul = Jazz will always be ahead of its time as Quincy Jones doesn’t mess around ! Quincy Jones will always be known for creating a greatness inherent in any project. Think about it : Ray Charles , an R&B master is now creating some of the greatest jazz ever heard thanks to his own innate ability yes , but also Quincy Jones.
