Therefore, the authors, in the general part of the manual, talk about the situation in war when providing first aid to the wounded, about the nature of gunshot wounds, about asepsis and antiseptics, treatment of wounds, about transporting the wounded, about stopping bleeding and combating blood loss. A special part outlines the symptoms and diagnosis of both gunshot and other injuries to the head, limbs, body cavities and internal organs encountered in war, based on the assumption that every doctor who graduated from a medical school, even if not a surgeon, should still be in general I am familiar with surgical diseases. Поэтому авторы в общей части руководства говорят об обстановке на войне при оказании первой помощи раненым, о характере огнестрельных ранений, об асептике и антисептике, лечении ран, о транспорте раненых, об остановке кроветечений и борьбе с кровепотерями.В специальной части излагаются симптомы и диагноз как огнестрельных, так и других встречающихся на войне повреждений головы, конечностей, полостей тела и внутренних органов, исходя из предположения, что всякий врач, окончивший медвуз, хотя бы и не хирург, все же должен быть в общих чертах знаком с хирургическими заболеваниями. Что касается лечения, то внимание уделено главным образом оказанию медпомощи вблизи поля сражения (на передовом и главном пунктах медпомощи) и только в общих чертах указывается на возможные осложнения при дальнейшей транспортировке раненых и меры, которыми можно предупредить некоторые из них. Однако оказалось необходимым привести описание ряда оперативных приемов, более или менее сложных, которые должны быть производимы в порядке подачи первой врачебной помощи, хотя бы они и требовали большего знакомства с оперативной техникой, чем это предполагалось по основной задаче учебника. О дальнейших методах лечения, по мере приближения раненых к тыловым учреждениям, говорится большей частью в общих чертах, ибо оказываемая там хирургическая помощь доступна только квалифицированным хирургам.
