Description: French Antique Majolica Oyster Plate by SALINS circa 1890 Item description: A rare model of antique French majolica oyster plate made by SALINS workshop in East of France around 1890s. This oyster plate is featuring design of 6 wells in shell shapes for oysters resting on bamboo leaves. Center well for lemon or sauce. Each shell well is depicting natural shells and delicately painted with blue stripes ornament. Berries are decorating the space in-between the wells. Dimensions:Diameter of this oyster plate: 9.4" / 24 cm, weight is 673 grams / 1.48 lbsCondition: Good antique condition. Each plate has mall areas of surface chip to the top glaze where glazing is worn off, mostly around the center well. Thanks to the color palette these spots are hardly visible. Few tiny chips on the back of the plates. Please see detailed zoom pictures. Very slight paint colours fading and light crazing to the glaze can be found. No major chips, cracks or repairs.
