IT IS THE LEAST I CAN DO FOR ALL OF YOU WHO LOOK FOR GREAT DEALS AS I DO WHEN I GO TO FILL OUT MY COLLECTION. IF YOU ARE A FAN OF EARLY ROCK AND ROLL , AND ESPECIALLY RARE SONGS NOT OFTEN INCLUDED IN RADIO SHOWS, MANY OF WHICH YOU HAVE NOT HEARD SINCE THEY WERE POPULAR, YOU WILL LOVE 'FORGOTTEN OLDIES WITH DAVE "RECORDS" STONE' READ ON FOR MORE DETAILS! FIRST OF ALL, IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST VENTURE INTO RADIO SHOW COLLECTING, WHAT EXACTLY IS A RADIO SHOW?WHY COLLECT THEM? WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? Well, those are good questions, especially if you have never known of them. Radio Shows are syndicated productions by one of several large and small distributors who supply broadcast product to radio stations normally during weekends when the usual air personalities have a break. Many air on Saturday or Sunday evenings or during overnight segments. They often feature some of the best known voices for their genre from across the country thus the Dick Clark's and Casey Kasem's and Rick Dees and Dick Bartley and so many others. People collect them for various reasons. Some just collect the series because they like it and want them all. Some collect their favorite artists or genre of music. Rather than an album by the artist or a compilation bought at Wal Mart or downloaded through iTunes or wherever, they have a unique presentation of their favorite artist or music not available anywhere else and always with dj comments which were very entertaining. Some collect interviews with their favorite artists as most shows had interview segments. Some collect commercials especially old car commercials but certainly not limited to only those. AND, these shows are in limited quantity. They were pressed just for syndicated stations in the United States. Many have just a few still in circulation. Some of the more popular shows may have as few as a couple hundred of each week's show pressed but think about it. A couple hundred for some 200 million Americans and millions of overseas collectors who look for unique presentations of their favorite artists or form of music is about as rare as rare can be. This show itself was only ever sent to the top 175 Metro markets. Smaller markets had to take the satellite feed once it became available. So at the very most there were only 175 copies of each show EVER. How do you compute rareness. 175 copies for the whole United States market and 25 years ago or more means that could possibly not be ANY more of these shows and at the very most there are 175 . How many survived as did the ones I have is anyone's guess. This is because most stations just threw these away after network broadcast since they could not be aired again because of the dated commercial content and most stations had limited storage space. (Believe me I know I work at one!) So it is likely that very few still exist and they are increasingly hard to find. They were first distributed on reel to reel tape if the show goes back that far into the 60's, then later on lp, later on CD and even later (after 2000 for most shows) on CDR. Now they are not available at all to collectors since they are distributed by digital download much like you get your music from iTunes. These shows become rarer and rarer every day because the people who buy them hold on to them and the people who sell them, like me, are running out of them. My best radio station contact for these shows is out of shows and I continue to struggle to find a good deal here and there for you but they are rarely from a regular source and maybe not from a radio station but other collectors selling their valued collections. The shows that you get now and hold on to will never decrease in value and only increase. I have prided myself since the start to provide the best and fairest cost with a guarantee that you will be happy or I refund your money. I sell them for near what I bought them for. I give volume discounts and discount postage always. As the postal service increases their rates, my shipping rates over the years have decreased. And, I have one of the biggest radio show libraries in the world consisting of tens of thousands unique shows, so many that I don't even know all that I have and am sometimes amazed when I go to look for one show and find another that I did not realize I had. Finally, it is Americana at its best. Whether the show be from the 60's or 2000's, rock, countdown, oldies, country, classical, religious, jazz or big band, it is unique and home grown. And you just can't find them anywhere. Even record stores that still exist will rarely have any. Radio shows are wonderful representations of the real golden age of music radio. And every one you buy is an original, not a copy, not a remake - all are limited editions in the hundreds at most and most, like this special show, much less. Once you get hooked, like me, it is a love affair for life! Welcome to the Club! My prices are guaranteed to save! Others say they are the lowest for radio shows on the internet - compare shop. Add their prices and shipping costs and compare with mine. You WILL save and the more you buy the more you save. And check my feedback. That says it all. I will make you happy. The history of this show and the legendary radio station from which it originated is fascination. I will only give you the highlights here but you can go online and type good guy radio in the search box or KISN AM you can read the entire history of this landmark station that was home not only to Dave "Records" Stone but also Roger W Morgan, The Real Don Steele, and many others.KISN AM radio was located in the upper Northwest and was one of the "Boss Radio" formatted stations that took over the Portland market with its 5000 watt AM signal. For years it ruled in the ratings but ran into FCC trouble through probably questionable ownership decisions combined with political intrigue and ultimately had to leave the air. It presently is resurrected as a low power fm, a shell of its former self but playing the same great music that made it nationally famous. In 2003, Dave Records Stone launched this show, a brief attempt at syndication of the local format to a nationwide audience. Any syndication venture is difficult and risky and usually was done through the biggest national players like United Stations or Westwood One who had the resources to produce and promote and sell radio programming.Dave was able to keep the show going for a year but never had more than 15 stations at its peak and after a year, Dave and his crew stopped production of the show. But, for the year it existed, it was a bright spot in radio playing songs that no other syndicated program played. The lost songs of rock, those songs that we heard and loved but which had sometimes short shelf life in the charts and then they were gone. You hear them on this show.It was a one hour show on one cd, many shows with themes but all with great songs from the early rock era. The show had great production values but was distributed on a simple cd-r format with an avery printed label, much like similar limited distribution shows of other genres from syndicators lacking the resources for pictured cd presentations. And of course since the shows were not meant to be kept, playable for just the one date of broadcast, how they looked was really not a big deal. But what is on each show IS! And you will love every one. I own most of the remaining shows of this series, having bought many years ago the shows kept in reserve for stations who needed replacement copies. When they are gone, you will see these no longer. In fact, over the years, I have never seen one on ebay ever.THIS SHOW WAS #6 IN THE SERIES AND AIRED ON MARCH 1, 2003 The show comes on 1 CD in perfect condition looking just like it was just pressed and was played only once, the day it was aired. This show comes with its cue sheet in excellent condition. PLEASE REMEMBER, This is the genuine original show that was sent to the radio station for airing. It is NOT an unauthorized copy but the Real McCoy!!! I personally guarantee that every radio show that I sell is the original show sent to stations. You are truly buying a show that will only increase in value and I am selling them at a price very close to what I paid for it. Remember that this and all the radio music shows that you see on eBay are not just about the music - the music can be found anywhere. It is the mixture of great music in themes and great announcing that makes it so entertaining. As well, it is a piece of radio and music history. Think of what they will be worth in a few years! (IF you wanted to sell.) I am selling to share with other music lovers what I was able to get at a reasonable price. It is a great show and would be a valuable addition to your collection. As always, for U.S. and International buyers, I charge only shipping on the first cd or single lp show you buy so the more you buy the more money you will save. (International buyers pay for the first multi lp show and an additional $8 for each multi lp show to help with the excessive shipping costs for overseas shipments. Otherwise all items ship for no extra charge) Good Luck and God Bless You
