Description: A brand new, unissued 2nd Infantry Division desert subdued shoulder patch (SSI) with hook Velcro on the reverse side for affixing to the Desert Camouflage Uniform (DCU) and Close Combat Uniform (CCU). These were specifically made for members of the 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 2nd Infantry Division for their deployment to Iraq in 2003-2004, and were primarily worn on the experimental Close Combat Uniform, or CCU, that was trialed by that unit. A number of unit personnel also had privately modified DCU tops with Velcro sewn to the sleeves, to which they also often attached unit insignia like these. The source for these patches was a Fort Lewis area sew shop which had provided large quantities of these to 3 SBCT prior to their deployment, but ended up with a lot of overstock. My shop purchased all of the remaining stock. These are absolutely original patches of the same type that were provided to the unit, and each one is in brand new condition. If you are buying more than one patch from us, PLEASE use the shopping cart feature. We do combine postage, so your shipping costs will not increase by much if you buy more than one patch.
