Description: For sale is a rare Mottahedeh Vista Alegre (Portugal) porcelain 8.75" pitcher/jug in the Chelsea Birds pattern and it is in perfect condition. This is part of a very large collection of Mottahedeh Chelsea Birds pattern porcelain from a prominent New England estate that I will be selling. These were not used at all, but instead displayed in a cabinet - so all are in 'like-new' condition. Of course, if I happen across any imperfections, I will certainly call them out. Also, if there are particular pieces that you are interested in or need to fill a gap in a collection, feel free to message me to see if I have them, and if I do, then I'll prioritize posting them next. James Giles was a highly-regarded artist that decorated some of the highest quality English porcelain that came from Chelsea back in the 18th century, and he specialized in birds. What you see in this pattern of Mottahedeh's 'Colonial Williamsburg' collection are modern reproductions of Giles' work, thus why this absolutely stunning pattern is referred to as 'Chelsea Birds'.
