Description: "Henri Matisse was a French artist considered one of the most influential figures of the 20th century. In his later years, due to ill health, Matisse turned to a new technique: cut-outs. These works, characterized by their bold colors, simplified shapes, and harmonious balance, marked a radical departure in his artistic journey. Matisse described this process as "drawing with scissors." His cut-outs are celebrated for their joy, energy, and innovative spirit." This is an original piece of collage art (ie NOT a print or lithograph) it is 11.5 x13" including the frame. It is beautifully framed and matted and ready to be displayed. This hung in my grandparents house for many years. It is signed "H. Matisse 51" and is speculated to be by Henri Matisse. Unfortunately, I have no further paper work or information on the piece. This piece and a few others have been sitting in storage for 2 years and I am finally ready for them to find a new home. Priced to sell and selling "as is". In accordance with Ebay's rules this piece is described as "after matisse". Please reach out with questions :) Happy bidding!
