Description: LeCoultre Memovox 1962 Alarm Watch- All Original- EXTREMELY CLEAN EXAMPLE This less common LeCoutre (U.S. subsidiary of Jeager-LeCoultre) Memovox for sale from 1962 is in the best condition of any Memovox from this period I have come across. Purchased in Japan. Well cared for. This example is the reference 3025 model, which was only made for the U.S. market (interestingly, most vintage Jeager-LeCoultre watches found in Japan are U.S. market LeCoultre models). It contains the upgraded K814 in-house movement, which incorporates additional shock proofing. The dial design on this watch is unique in the Memovox series. It features three-dimensional faceted batons that reflect light in the same way as cut jewels. These batons sit atop a domed outer ring that also softly reflects light in multiple directions. The combination gives the Memovox design a more luxury dress aesthetic that sets it apart from its stable-mates. The 10K gold-filled case, minimalist straight lugs, and dual Jeager-LeCoultre signed crowns round out the sophisticated dress watch package. The fact that this watch has its original signed crowns is fairly rare. Most Memovox watches have had their crowns replaced at some point. The condition of this watch is fantastic. Extremely clean for a watch of this vintage. The movement and alarm work smoothly. The case is unpolished with no deep scratches, only light surface-level micro-scratches as you want to see with an all-original case. The dial is immaculate. There are no stains or visual fading. It is consistent throughout. The hands and batons are excellent. The signed crowns are also beautiful, with clean knurling. The acrylic domed crystal is also exceptionally clean (I would imagine this is an NOS crystal, as these don’t usually last 60 years). The Japanese are world-renowned for how they care for their watches. Japanese jewelers are equally famous for their upkeep skills. This LeCoultre Memovox is a splendid example of this tradition.
