Description: ONE LARGE RARE STYLE ANTIQUE TRUNK LATCH or CATCH. SIZE: 6 1/2" tall x 3 3/4"wide to the edges when together. 3" from center hole to hole at the top of the bottom piece. A rare style that I have never seen before in over 50 years of trunk restoring. It has a special built in lever in the top piece, which you push on to open the lower latch piece. Very unusual! One (1) large size antique trunk latch in very good used condition. Strong cast iron base and a cast iron lid lifter style top. Original worn black paint finish, easy to repaint if desired. The unique opening lever was tinned so it's silver in color. A style used from the 1880's to the 1920's. Complete and works well. Please see all pictures for condition and design details.
