Description: HYOSTAR SJ-971...Martin D-18 copy Japanese 1970's Vintage 1970's Hyostar Acoustic Guitar . These guitars were built in the 70's at the Matsumokou factory to copy and offer an inexpensive alternative to Gibson and Martin acoustic guitars. They are very well built and have a beautiful sound. The Hyostar guitars were not part of the "lawsuit guitars" because they stopped short of mimicking the headstock of Gibson and Martin but the rest of the construction and materials used were very similar. It has a spruce top and mahogoney neck. It needs some TLC, the action up to the 12th fret is reasonable, from there it gets a little high. This instrument has a few normal dings and scratches, it's still in good condition for it's age. Everything is original from the pick-guard and adjustable bridge to the nut. These era guitars have become very popular over the last couple of years and are becoming harder to find. I normally ship on Mondays and Fridays.
