Description: Hibiscus × rosa-sinensis, known colloquially as Chinese hibiscus, China rose, Hawaiian hibiscus or I call it the Original Hibiscus. You will get 4 semi-hardwood cuttings from my Exotic Orange Tropical Hibiscus 15 Year Old braided hibiscus shown in the first few pictures (it definitely needs another trim). After that the pictures some of fully grown plants I grew from cuttings. Follow my directions and I guarantee you will have a full beautiful plant that you can put outside and show off in the Spring. From The Internet:Hibiscus rosa- sinensis can be propagated by cuttings with an excellent rate of success Select the Cutting: - Choose a healthy stem from the parent plant that is semi-hardwood (not too soft or too woody). Look for a stem that is about 4-6 inches long and has at least 2-3 leaf nodes.Prepare the Cutting: - Cut the stem just below a leaf node using clean scissors. Remove any flowers and the lower leaves, leaving a few leaves at the top.Apply Rooting Hormone (Optional): - Dip the cut end of the stem into rooting hormone. This step can help promote root growth but is not necessary.Plant the Cutting: - Fill a pot with a well-draining potting mix. Make a hole in the soil with your finger or a pencil and gently insert the cut end of the stem, burying it about 2 inches deep. Firm the soil around the cutting.Water the Cutting: - Water the cutting gently to settle the soil around it. Ensure that the soil is moist but not soggy.Create a Humid Environment: - Cover the pot with a plastic bag or use a humidity dome to maintain humidity. Make sure the plastic does not touch the leaves. You can use stakes to hold the bag up if needed.Place in Indirect Light: - Place the pot in a warm location with indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the cutting.Monitor and Care: - Check the soil moisture regularly. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Remove the plastic cover for a few hours each day to allow for air circulation.Check for Roots: - After about 4-6 weeks, gently tug on the cutting. If you feel resistance, roots have likely formed.Transplanting: - Once the cutting has developed a strong root system, you can transplant it into a larger pot or directly into your garden.By following these steps, you should be able to successfully grow hibiscus from cuttings! Now back to me: I agree with the directions from the internet but I never used a plastic bag over my cuttings.I will take care of the first step and the rest if up to you. I will tell you my own experience growing this beautiful braided tree that I have had for more than 10 years and I live on Long Island in NYIt is a hardy sun and water lover. It has bloomed for me year round , outdoors in summer and in front of a sunny window in winter. It is always thirsty for water and hungry for fertilizer. The mother plant has produced about 50 plants from cuttings that I have given to friends and family, sold from my yard and greenhouse sales and now offer to you. Love it , water it , feed it fertilizer ( when it is one month old ) and keep it a sunny spot and you will have a beautiful flowering tree or bushy shrub, depending on how you raise it. If you want a braided tree it takes about a few years before you can begin to braid it, and longer to grow because you must continuously cut off the stems as they grow but if you have patience it is easy to do. My tree was twice the size it is now because I have had to cut it back drastically to fit it through the door to bring it outside every year, I think I have come to love my bushy plants more than the tree because the flowers are more abundant. If the cuttings do not arrive in good condition please contact me for replacement or refund. If the plant is not thriving please contact me for help and I will help you to figure out what is wrong, although I seriously doubt you will have any problems with this little gal 🥰 I GUARANTEE 100% SATISFACTION TO ALL OF MY BUYERS! 🥰 If there is any problem at all with your order, please contact me and I will correct it and PLEASE have patience and give me 24 hours to answer you If you have any questions feel free to ask me, i would love to share my knowledge with you.Thank you and happy planting🌸Christina🌺
