Description: The thing that sets our bowls apart is the FINISH. It's not a "dull wood" finish. We have a special bees wax aging finish that we apply to all of our bowls. It takes an already distressed bowl and makes it look OLD and WARM and very primitive. And it STAYS that way for the life of the bowl. It is smooth to the touch and it is beautiful. Hand carved Dough Bowl Trencher 2902. THIS one has carved HANDLES on each end. This is the DEEPEST design Rick does. Please note: This is a round bottom bowl. And THIS bowl had a big burled area in the bottom making it really uneven. Therefore Rick sanded a flat area into the bottom so that the bowl can (and does) sit perfectly level. However, you can rock it back and forth physically if you try simply because of the shape of the bowl. Again, the FLat area allows it to sit flat. I just mention it because it CAN be rocked a bit just due to the shape of the bowl and the burl area on the bottom. This one was carved DEEP into the heart of the wood. Rick distressed and waxed it multiple times with our special bees wax formulation to achieve a wonderfully primitive look. It's A Multiple layer process. (and therefore NOT suitable for rolling dough in) Measures 19 3/4" Long, 10 1/4" WIDE. It stands approx. 3 1/8". Nice piece has been carved out of ONE SOLID Piece of wood (Mountain Pine). Nice............It weighs just shy of FOUR and a Half POUNDS. These trenchers have become Extremely popular in the Interior Design Market as WONDERFUL centerpieces OR catch-alls. Could hold fruit in the kitchen.....any number of uses in any number of Custom Decors. Many designers will use these bowls to compliment whatever holiday it is (decorating them with arrangements, ornaments, fruits or all of the above in colors that reflect the holiday). Then the rest of the year they can simply have any other arrangement.
