Description: General Stephen Watts KEARNY, famous for his involvement in the Mexican-American War -- an Engraving by Thomas B. WELCH for Graham's Magazine in 1849. Print size is about 7 X 5 ". It is on a thick stock -- almost feels like a postcard of that era (not nearly as rigid as a modern postcard but a bit thicker than the other ones that I have up for sale). It also doesn't have any indication it was removed from something as most of my others do, it seems like it was cut out of something. Vintage for sure, but I don't know if this was taken from that 1849 magazine or from an art book or what. Regardless, it certainly is quite old and seems to be from that long ago. There is a wave going down the middle, not quite a crease but maybe from water or a paste. NOTE ON THE IMAGES: The first two, one each of front and back, are scans. The others are photos.
