Description: Lovely Frankoma mug here! We have sold a large amount of Frankoma over the years and never seen this exact color of glaze and design! The wisteria lavender glaze of 1983 might be the closest, but it seems a bit darker then that glaze, and not quite as dark as the plum that was produced in the 90's. Using the wet finger test, we believe it to be Sapulpa clay, so post 1954. The simple ribbed wide to narrow cylinder is hardly seen. We do a lot of our buying in the Sapulpa area, any time we run into something that is not in the books or that we have not seen there is a good chance it was something made for employees, or by them for themselves, even potential prototypes that did not see full production, and there is a good chance that this mug is one of those.
