The catalog describes the pocket watch as: •A Swiss version of American Presidential Commemorative Watches: This FDR watch comes from the 1974 collection of open face commemorative watches that featured hand-engraved steel die cases and porcelain enamel dials with American presidents from Franklin D. Roosevelt to Lyndon B. Johnson.•It's one of several Limited-Edition units and serial numbered models that only ran about 3500 units each if Arnex followed its numbering system that began with the Kennedy series. This one is number 1861. Arnex made the watches part of a limited edition, and each one has a serial number. The JFK watch had sold out and the availability needed checking before orders a buyer could order one. •Multiple-struck medallion: The back of each watch had a multiple-struck medallion mounted in high relief, showing the American eagle and flag in true-to-life colors. A unique feature of the Presidential series included the final run of Unitas/Cortebert 18 1/2 Ligne (41.73mm) movements. After this series, the Swiss chose to limit their pocket watch movements to 16.5 Lignes which ended the era of LéPine large open face watches. This is a certified pre-owned watch in very good to excellent condition. It has one year parts and labor warranty and free shipping.
