Description: Cummington Press, Massachusetts, 1947. Tall octavo in half brown and marbled boards. 27pp. Uncut Van Gelder Oxhead paper with woodcut engraved illustrations by Paul Wightman Williams. Williams joined Cummington Press as an illustrator and press operator in 1944. When Cummington Press was temporarily closed in 1952, he painted and exhibited his works in the Bertha Schafer Gallery. Williams returned to the press when it reopened in 1954 in Rowe, MA and his untimely death in 1957 effectively ended the Cummington Press. This copy is numbered 165 of 203 copies. The spine is badly chipped and needs restoration and there a couple of small dark stains on the boards; otherwise a very nice copy of a scarce piece of literature.
