Description: This Emco Unimat 3 lathe/mill is a complete machine that is perfect for mini/micro lathe and milling tasks. The brand is well-known in the metalworking industry, and this machine is a great addition to any shop. With its compact size, it is perfect for those who need a smaller combo machine for their projects. In addition to being a capable compact lathe, it's also a capable compact milling machine. Installed on the mill spindle is a self centering drill chuck, but collet chucks are obtainable. Usually, you find these machines with only one motor, needing to swap the motor position when switch from lathe to mill and vice-versa. On this machine, two motors are included, so the time switching between lathe work and mill work is greatly reduced. In regards to the condition of the machine, you'd be hard pressed to find another Unimat 3 with so little wear, especially at this price. For this machine's entire existence, it has only cut wax for a jewelry casting business. No metal or plastic ever! While it's a little dusty and some of the accessories have some surface rust, the machine itself is in fantastic mechanical condition. Speaking of the accessories, included in the purchase is a small 3 jaw chuck, a tailstock, a small vice for milling and drilling operations (small 3"x5" milling tables are also obtainable, and there are also tiny little rotary tables to go on said tables!), a semi-rare Emco brand dividing head with four division plates included, a chuck key, a small lathe dog, a faceplate, a double sided wrench, a lathe tool post, four lathe tools (unknown steel), and two stamped sheet metal pieces who's function is a mystery to me but will be included anyway. Both the lathe and the mill need replacement drive bands, but they are cheap and easily obtainable. In addition to being a capable mini lathe and mill in such a compact package (great for apartments or tiny garages), it's retro 70's style and function is quite appealing, at least to me.
