The serial number starts with 0, which is not typical for Soviet mass-produced cameras. However, the differences, and significant ones, are not only in the number. This is practically a pre-production camera, assembled with a hammer and file. I mean, that many parts have traces of rough processing, that is, the design was not brought to the point of being assembled on an assembly line. The shutter body, screws, and long speed mechanism are different. Regarding the latter, this mechanism, which is already quite capricious, does not have any adjustments for accurately setting speeds, as in all subsequent cameras. Because of this, difficulties arise in the adjustment process. As I understand it, this camera was generally the top model of Soviet rangefinder cameras, and it was made in the year of the end of the reign of dictator Stalin. That is, the task was to release such a camera at any cost, regardless of time and costs. This was done, and the design flaws were eliminated in subsequent releases in 1954."Excellent" general condition.The camera has had a full service with the goal of returning it to close to factory technical condition. Complete disassembly, production of early so-called "sewn" curtains from the original material, then assembly and adjustment. Unfortunately, due to the peculiarities of the early design, it was not possible to fully realize the plan. They tried to make a camera several times and apparently failed. What was already clear to me is that speeds of 500 and 1000 do not work correctly, with part of the frame darkening. Two parts of the shutter do not interact correctly and this cannot be corrected without replacement - such spare parts do not exist. Further, speeds of 1/5, 1/2 and 1 sec may be outside the tolerance. Speed D doesn't work, it's like 1 second. Theoretically, I have a Zorki-3 camera in spare parts, I could try to assemble one from two by replacing the shutter. But it wouldn't be an authentic camera. Here all the details are original from the same year 1953, except for the material of the curtains. Cosmetical condition - please, see detailed photos.
