Description: Now in my 70s, it is time to downsize my glass collection and find a new home for many pieces that I have enjoyed over the years. I am offering these pieces at a fair price based on sale price data that is publicly available. Thank you for your interest. Although the technical term "salver" means a tray, small pedestal dishes such as this one were also used to present food samples; or for servants to deliver letters to the head of the household. Today, they are often collected as toy cake stands by children's glass collectors. First introduced in 1902 by the Bryce, Higbee Glass Co., this "HIGHLAND" pattern salver is also collected as toy glass collectors as a child's cake stand. A very hard to find pattern in this size, the glass stands 4 inches in height with a 6.5 inch diameter serving surface and a 3.25 inch base. The quality of the pressing and the intricacy of the pattern coupled with the exquisite clarity of the glass make this a very stunning piece of early American pattern glass that would make a great addition to any collection. There are no nicks, chips, or flea bites of any kind. This is not a pattern or size that you will find readily available. Buyers please note: The item listed is used and of vintage age. I have given pictures and a description that points out any visible damage, flaws, or defects that would materially change the value or the appearance of the item. You can expect signs of use and the item is sold ?as is.? I will be happy to answer any and all questions about the item before you bid. I have a return policy, however, if the item must be returned for any reason or because of any circumstances that arise during the sale transaction, the return postage is the responsibility of the buyer. Any refund will be processed after the item has been returned to the seller in the condition in which it was originally sold. It is my full intention to be fair, honest, and cooperative in my dealings with all customers and to provide you with quality products that you can be proud to own. Any mistakes or omissions in listing information was an honest mistake and was not intended to deceive any prospective buyer. Your bid is acknowledgement of these terms and conditions. Thank you and good luck.
