Description: This is a Corvair Dragfree Cross Shaft that has been remanufactured to have ball bearings in custom made support brackets. It replaces cross shafts of 1964 -1969 Corvairs having an accelerator rod lever with a 1 1/2" offset bend (see image). Old cross shafts and their mounting brackets and levers commonly are bent or twisted, and the mounting brackets may have worn grooves into the shaft. All of these issues prevent the throttles of the left and right carburetors from fully closing, as well as prevent synchronization of the carburetors. Dragfree Cross Shafts are fully disassembled and the shaft and levers are straightened. The stock mounting brackets are replaced with brackets holding ball bearings in a custom housing. The bearings are protected by a metal cover. Installed, you will find the cross shaft rod will rotate smoothly, gliding on the ball bearings.
