Men, wolves, Myrdraal (fades), birds, Ogier, dark societies, Aes Sedai (wizard-like, and WOMEN only!), magic powers, enchanted items, swords and axes, assorted battles, villages & countrysides, castles and towers, rivers and ships, famous lore going back ages; I can tell you first hand, as a Tolkien FANATIC, I really enjoyed this entire 11 book series!
