Includes 2 main blades, 5 spacer/raker blades and 8 mylar fine adjustment shims. Clockwise rotation. The inner main blade is an ATB + FTG style - Alternating Top Bevel + Flat Top Grind – the tooth pattern alternates from a beveled right grind to a flat top grind to a beveled left grind. This 3-tooth pattern is repeated around the 12 teeth on the inner blade. The outer main blade is a TB + FTG style – the tooth pattern alternates between a top bevel (beveled up to the right) grind and a flat top grind. This 2-tooth pattern is repeated around the 12 teeth on the outer blade. The spacer/raker blades are all FTG style – flat top grind. The spacer/raker teeth are approximately twice as wide as the teeth on the inner and outer main blades. This dado set will produce fine cuts with a smooth flat bottom in most materials. Includes a heavy hard plastic carry case. Rated for rips and crosscuts in hardwood, softwood, chipboard, plywood and laminate. Made in Italy. See specs for details. Carbide teeth are sharp with no chips and no broken or missing teeth. Used very lightly since new. Usage: The trick to producing fine smooth cuts with this dado set is the rotational speed of the blades and the speed with which the material is moved across the blade. Since most saws have a fixed rotational speed, the key is how fast you pull the material over the blade set. Too fast and you risk chips and tear outs. Too slow and you risk burning the material and/or warping the blade. The optimal cutting speed will vary among various materials. Test cuts are recommended.
