Description: It's the Year of the Dragon and everyone needs a dragon rug! This is a classic design but there is something special about this piece. It definitely has some age but I've been told that one of the characters is in simplified Chinese and if that is true that would put it after WW2. it seems older and the texture of the wool is different than the "antique finish" pieces that I've seen from the last 40 years or so. Unusual purple color in a few places. I've included a screenshot of a response I received from a post asking if anyone could read the inscription.
