Description: Charles Grey. 2nd Earl Grey [1764 1845] also known as Viscount Howick was a British Whig politician who served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1830 to 1834. Grey was a long-time leader of multiple reform movements, and during his tenure as prime minister he enacted the Slavery Abolition Act which led to the abolition of slavery in most of the British Empire. Listed for auction is the autograph of Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey signed on a transmittal envelope. The cover is addressed in his hand and signed ''Grey'' in dip pen. The envelope measures 4.25 x 2.50 inches and is in fine condition. The panel has a collector's notation in pencil under his name which can easily be removed and is affixed to a page.
