I think it is the symmetry and the perfect weight of the table legs and the size of the glass triangle. The glass is amazing - just under an inch thick (.8", 20mm). The legs are wrapped in precision crafted black Russian saddle leather. I took a close up -look at that stitching! The word scalene means that no two sides are of equal length, so it is an irregular triangle which is a lot more interesting and appealing to look at. It's a great table for the proper space, but at 28.5" tall I think it is most impressive as a work desk. I mean, you'll want to spend as much time as possible sitting here, not just a for 30 minute meal, right? Or, just put it in your condo or house and stare at it. It's that awesome. It's vintage and modern if that's possible. Designed in 1991. The glass is quite heavy, which means it's durable as well. The legs detach. We can conspire on shipping together.
