Description: Here is a primitive knife that I believe to be fish serving table knife. It is not particularly sharp. Collected in France. The blade is carved into the shape of a fish and engraved decoratively on both sides. A wooden handle (with a small split) and brass collar are attached to the blade. Stamped into the wood is “YATAIN”. As a collector of French animal hachoirs, I find this an interesting knife but can only speculate about it’s use. Measures 10 ½" long.
