Description: These antique boots are a rare find for any militaria collector. Made from black leather, they are the perfect addition to any collection of WW1 memorabilia. With a single top strap and original period design, these boots are a true piece of history. The boots were worn by officers during WW1 (1914-18) and are a testament to the bravery and sacrifice of those who served. They are a unique and valuable addition to any collection of original period items. Don't miss your chance to own a piece of history. These are private purchase boots from a cobbler and are not marked. These trench boots are most similar to the ones worn by British and Canadian expeditionary forces officers. Since they are custom made, they could also be US. They were sourced from a store in southeast Virginia. There is a single strap with buckle an inch from the top of each boot. There is a groove in each heel that could indicate spurs were worn. Their condition is amazing for 110+ year old boots. The finished leather surfaces were treated with leather conditioner. There is a tear in the tongue of the left boot that could be mended to stabilize. Each boot has a side of the strap that has pulled away from the small stitching. Although I wouldn’t wear these, if you were planning on trying, they need to have the stitching checked throughout. No returns on these if there is evidence that the purchaser tried them on. They are being sold for display purposes. They measure 10 3/4” long and 3 7/8” at the widest.
