After a bit of cleaning and calibration of the Fairbanks, I used a calibrated modern digital scale set to grams. I compared the digital scale weight to the Fairbanks and the Fairbanks balanced out at nearly exactly the same. In this example a 3.9g sample as weighed on the digital balanced to 3.88g on the Fairbanks. Not bad for a 90+ year old product!
