Description: ANTIQUE BOOK - KIM by RUDYARD KIPLING McMILLAN'S POCKET KIPLING 1914?. My grandfather received this book for Christmas 1914. I think I'm correct in saying that the first pocket edition was published in 1908 then was reprinted up until 1914. This is likely a 1914 edition, printed by R & R Clark, Limited, Edinburgh. It is bound in dark red leather and is beautifully illustrated. The cover is worn, and the front cover became detached as I was writing this. I don't see any loose pages though, but it's 110 years old and has obvious condition issues. Also included is a newspaper clipping (with relevance to the book) that Pop thought to put between the pages. "A Reminiscence Of Lord Roberts. The Man Who Opened The Gate At Kandahar." On the reverse side are lists of killed, wounded, died and missing men, many from old regiments now disbanded. The clipping is between pages 40 and 41. Please ask questions prior to bidding and thank you for looking.
