Antique Art Nouveau 14K Gold IVY WREATH Enamel & Seed Pearl Pin

This lovely antique pin depicts a leafy wreath. Using gold, enamel, and seed pearls, the wreath is crafted of ivy leaves and shamrocks. During the Victorian to Edwardian period the ivy leaf motif often symbolized everlasting love, immortality, and fidelity. The ivy was well-executed, showing gradient white to green enameled leaves with vein detail. There are two shamrocks set with seed pearls. A randomly placed swirl with seed pearls and a larger seed pearl complete the look. The back closes with a C-clasp band, non-locking. The straight pin on the back is not gold, but the pin/ brooch was professional tested to be 14K gold. Note: There is a little knob on the back with an unknown purpose. At first I thought it might have been where a pendant loop once was, but it is not centered above the straight pin on the back. This type of pin would not look appropriate anyway as a pendant because the straight pin would be much too visible. I wanted to mention it though.
