Description: This is a rare piece of art history. The Howell & James Art Exhibition was a renowned art exhibit held in England during the 1800's. This is a one of a kind piece that was exhibited during the 1879 showing. It is marked and dated, The artist reads Mrs. F.W. Barry, it was entry P-52 in the 1879 exhibit. For many years it has been mounted in a plate display (Pictured) I removed it from the display to photograph it and the condition of it for you. It will be shipped along with the Frame Display but not in the frame so that it can be packed securely to protect it during transport. The Plate has some small chips on the back as would be expected of an item that is 143 years old. This is you opportunity to own a piece of history. I do not know any more about the artist as I am in the United States and this came from an estate collection of a well to do family hear in the states who no doubt have carried this with them for many years as they moved around the world. They clearly had a very discerning eye. Please look at the pictures closely. Any questions message me.
